215 [PGBSC Blog] PGBSC Swim meet in April

Hello fellow Barracuda parents.

As we know, the Barracuda swim club will be holding there swim meet in April. In preparation for the swim meet we are looking for several parents that would be willing to take on the following positions.

Electronic technical. This position involves assisting in setting up the trimming equipment, computers and associated equipment for the swim meet. You would be working in a team of 2 people and would need to be available at around noon on the Friday before the meet to assist in setting up the equipment. On the days of the meet, you would need to be at the pool about 1 hour before the meet starts (warm ups) to test and certify the equipment is functional. In addition you should be available during the meet, in case of problems. However this is the best position during the meet, because you will have a lot of free time during the meet to watch your kids swim.

Electronics operational. This position involves operation of the timing system during the meet. You will be working in a team of 6 people and need to be available about 1 hour before the meet and during the meet. This position allows you to get a behind the scene view of the meet and is very important to recording and verifying the result of the races.

No previous experience is required for these positions and training is provided. If you feel one of these positions is right for you, please contact Andy Godden, webmaster@pgbsc.org or 250-617-2503.

A friendly reminder, PGBSC has a policy that all parents must volunteer for one of the many positions available during the swim meet.

Thanks
Andrew (Andy) Godden
