Hello Prince George Barracuda Swim Club, Every year the Prince George Cougars have their annual Teddy Bear Toss game and as with the tradition when the Cougars score their first goal fans are encouraged to throw teddy's onto the ice! Those Teddys are then donated to the Salvation army for children who are in need. This year the game is scheduled for this Saturday, December 14th and we'd love to have members of the Prince George Barracuda Swim Club come out and be apart of this great tradition. If this is your first time it's very exciting to be apart of the atmosphere and we are encouraging members to attend the game in team gear to show your team spirit!!! Afternoon everyone, I have a couple of items to pass along this today. 1. Practice cancellations The club will be travelling to Kamloops next weekend for a swim meet. Therefore practices Thursday December 12 to Monday December 16 for the following groups will be cancelled: Youth, Elite, Fitness + Development, D1 and D2AB. Tuesday morning December 17 practice is also cancelled for the Youth group. Swim School, D3, D2C and Masters will have regular scheduled practices. 2. Kamloops meet information (This is for those attending) Location: Canada Games Aquatic Centre, 910 McGill Road Please bring your Barracuda cap(s) and t-shirt(s). They are mandatory. Due bring clothing to wear on deck between races to keep warm. The meet is a heats and finals format. 10 and under swimmers only race in the morning. 11 and over swimmers race in the morning as well. If they make finals they race in the afternoon also. All relays for this meet are mixed relays. 10 and under relays take place in the morning session. 11 and over relays take place in the afternoon session. There are no relays on Sunday. There will be 'A' and 'B' finals for each age group (11 and over) which has 24 swimmers or more in the following events: all 50's and 100's, 200 free and 200 im. These events will have 'A' finals only; 200 fly, 200 back and 200 breast. Warm up schedule Please be on deck 20 minutes prior to the beginning of the warm up session. prelim warm ups for Friday/Saturday/Sunday 13 and under 7:30-8:10am / 14 and over 8:10-8:50am racing begins at 9am. Approx finish for Friday and Saturday 1:30pm / Saturday 12 noon. finals warm ups for Friday/Saturday 4:00-4:50pm racing begins at 5:00 with approx finish 8:00pm Sunday Finals warm ups will begin 2 hours after end of prelims We will be running a short practice session at the pool beginning at 5pm on Thursday December 12. Evening everyone, Some information to pass along to you. Practice cancellations Friday November 15 practices for all groups including Swim School are cancelled. Saturday November 16 practices for all groups are cancelled. Friday and Saturday we are hosting our Annual Fall Invitational. Practices for the Elite and Youth groups will also be cancelled Monday morning November 18. The following information concerns the swim meet. Friday November 15 starting at noon, we will be setting up for the meet. If 5-6 people are able to join Jerzy and I for 90 minutes or so, that would be greatly appreciated. Let us know if you are able to volunteer. All swimmers must wear their Barracuda t-shirts and caps. All swimmers must be on deck 20 minutes prior to the beginning of warm ups. Friday warm ups begin at 4:30 pm racing begins at 5:40 pm until approx 7 pm. Saturday warm ups begin at 8 am racing begins at 9:10 am until approx 3 pm. Sunday warm ups begin at 8 am racing begins at 9:10 am until approx 2 pm. The club will be sitting on the bleachers at the far end of the pool. If you are new to the swim meet experience, head to the website and, under the Parents tab, there is a plethora of information to help answer your questions. That's all for now! Cheers, Jason

Hi Swim Families, Thank you to all that placed orders for Barracuda clothes and swim bags. I just love seeing the swimmers at the meets wearing the Barracuda colours and coming together as a sport family. I have returned the sizing kits and will be putting the order together this weekend but if anyone would still like to order a speedo swim bag ($100) or toque($25), I will be at the pool tonight (Friday) from 4 to 6:30 and Saturday from 8:30 to 11am to take payment (cash/cheque).
