NOTICE: PRINCE GEORGE BARRACUDA SWIM CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING The Prince George Barracudas Swim Club will hold its Annual General Meeting Saturday November 6^th, 2021 at 10:00 am. This will be a virtual meeting. The link is attached below. All members are invited and encouraged to attend. To my fellow Swimmers and Parents, I hope this message finds everyone well and you are enjoying our fall in Northern British Columbia. The Aquatic Center is busy with the enthusiasm of swim practice and the anticipation of competition in the upcoming season. The Barracuda Executive has always strived to ensure the safest environment for our swimmers to enjoy the sport. With the dramatic rise in Covid 19 cases in Northern British Columbia, it has been decided, by the executive, that the November swim meet will be cancelled due to the current viral status in our local area. It is not prudent or responsible for the Barracudas to hold a swimming event in these times with the current viral situation and recent Regional Provincial Health Orders. It is our hope to facilitate time trials in the coming few months at a time that is appropriate. We know that this cancelation is difficult but it is most certainly the most prudent and responsible coarse of action. Thank you for your understanding. Regards Kerim M Ozcan President PGBSC

Equipment Kids in D2AB, D1, Fitness/Development, Elite and Youth/National must bring their mesh bag and equipment to the pool on their first day of practice. Those in Masters, please do the same. Dryland Shorts/track pants and t-shirts. If you want to wear shoes, they must be for indoor use only. Use of the Hot tub At this time, only those registered in Masters can use the hot tub before or after practice. Hello everyone, Who's looking forward to swimming again? I certainly am. Practices begin October 12. The full schedule can be found on our website under the Schedules Tab. Regarding vaccination passports. The club has been informed by the city of the following vaccination requirements while visiting the Aquatic Center for sport. Participants in Swim School, D3, D2C, D2AB, D1, Fit/Dev, Elite and Youth/Nat programs do not require proof of vaccinations. Participants in the Masters program MUST show proof of vaccinations, to the coaching staff, prior to their first practice. The city will be issuing cards again this season for all swimmers to use when entering the building. All swimmers must wear a mask throughout the facility. Except when they are about to enter the water. Spectators Do not have to show a vaccine passport. But do have to wear a mask throughout the facility. The city has stated that spectators can only sit in the viewing area (tables and seats). Sitting on bleachers are off limits to spectators. In the eventuality that there are too many spectators, the city will advise the club on different options. However, ViaSport, Swimming Canada and Swim BC have recommended there should be no spectators allowed on deck. The club is providing this information so that parents can make their own decisions, as to whether or not to stay and watch practices.
