Instead of creating a string of emails that you will need to save and sift through, I will be reusing the same email and adding to it, as I get answers to the questions you ask. The new information will be at the top of the email and the title will alert you to the topic of the new information. Hope this is helpful.
1. Counselling – The city does not have a plan at the moment for counseling services for swimmers and families affected by the Chlorine leak. The Director of Community Services has passed on this request to those above him for consideration. I have reminded him of the urgent need and timeliness for that service. I'll keep you posted.
2. Chlorine Gas Detectors – from the Director of Community Services, "We have them in our chlorine room. The industry standard is to have them in your chlorine room. Our pool meets all applicable laws, regulations, etc.. with its current set-up."
3. Personal Items - Many of the Spring Fling swim meet participants did get their things back from the pool after the incident last Sunday. After the building was safe to enter, collection of those materials was done quickly by Bluefins adult volunteers and city staff, and transported to the School Board office for dispersal. If you have noticed that some of the items you have do not belong to your family, please call the Cariboo Memorial Complex front desk (250-398-7665) to make arrangements to get the belongings back to the rightful owners. If you are still missing items, call the same number as left over items are in storage at the complex.
4. Swim meet results. Now that the emergent aspects of the chlorine incident have been dealt with, we can move on to other items. I will be finalizing meet results this evening and results will be posted to the SNC site tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.
