| Hello to all the new Barracuda parents and to the parents who have children moving up to higher development levels. I would like to welcome you all and invite you to the level one timing clinic. There are 2 sessions being offered, one on Wednesday, October 15 and another on Thursday October 16. You only need to attend one. As you may or may not know, in order for the club to have sufficient staff to host a time trial or swim meet, the PGBSC requires parents or guardians to volunteer at these events and the executive has implemented a policy regarding parent volunteers. If your swimmer is registered in a local meet or time trial, you must volunteer or supply an alternate in case you are unable to volunteer. If you are providing an alternate, you must clear your alternate volunteer with the Director of Officials. It is the responsibility of the parents or guardians to find and inform the Director of Officials of your alternate volunteer. Your child or children will be withdrawn from those time trials and swim meets where you are either unable to volunteer or cannot find a suitable alternate. There are 2 swim meets, one in November 2014 and the other April 2015. There are 7 time trials throughout the season. Swim meets run from Friday evening until Sunday mid-afternoon. Parents must provide a volunteer for each day of the swim meet. Time trials are Saturday mornings from 8 am until 11 am. Please consider attending the level one timing clinic. This is a great introduction to learning the setup of the pool, the expectations of you, as an official and how to use a stop watch.
