Prince George Barracuda Swim Club
[Prince George Barracuda Swim Club News] - Practice cancellation and other information
Hi Blog PGBSC,

Here is the News information:
News Title: Practice cancellation and other information
News Date: 10/08/2020

Morning everyone,

Some information to pass along this morning.

1. Jerzy has a new email address, pgbsc@primus.ca. Please use this one from now on.

2. The Aquatic Centre will be closed Thanksgiving Monday. Therefore practices for that day will be cancelled.

3. There is still a practice for group A this Sunday!

4. As the weather gets cooler, a reminder to dress appropriately arriving and leaving the pool. Especially since groups have to wait outside before they are allowed in; and some members are waiting for parents after swimming.

As always, if you have any questions/concerns, please let me know.

Cheers,

Jason

[Prince George Barracuda Swim Club News] - update regarding registration

Prince George Barracuda Swim Club
[Prince George Barracuda Swim Club News] - update regarding registration
Hi Blog PGBSC,

Here is the News information:
News Title: update regarding registration
News Date: 09/01/2020
Afternoon everyone,

At this time registration is closed and the groups that are able to practice are full.

A reminder that this is an extraordinary case due to the pandemic; as we can only accommodate so many members in the pool. Should you wish to go on the waiting list for when the club is able to take more memberships, please send an email to Jason ( jason@pgbsc.org).

For those who are registered, the fee schedule this season is based on an hourly rate for pool time. If you have any questions or concerns about this, contact Kelly ( registrar@pgbsc.org)

Stay safe and healthy,

Jason

[Prince George Barracuda Swim Club News] - Membership Update

Prince George Barracuda Swim Club
[Prince George Barracuda Swim Club News] - Membership Update
Hi Blog PGBSC,

Here is the News information:
News Title: Membership Update
News Date: 08/09/2020

Dear Barracuda Families,

We are in unprecedented times. Your child's routines have likely changed substantially due to COVID-19. We understand that there has been a lot of questions about the upcoming swim season. Please be assured the coaches and executive have been collaborating over the summer to develop a return to swim plan that follows the safety guidelines set out by Swim BC and the City of Prince George. Our primary goal is to have as many swimmers return to the pool as safely permitted. We are faced with limited hours and occupancy at the pool and swim schedules will look quite different than in previous years. Due to the need to maintain social distancing, there will be new processes and procedures in place.  In addition, we will be unable to offer instruction to the following groups: Swim School, D3 and D2C. We need to be aware that the situation is fluid and we are hopeful that we will be able to expand membership to these groups if/as restrictions ease.

Information regarding registration will be released in the coming weeks.

We understand the social, physical and mental health benefits of sport. We will continue to work together to ensure that we can offer a safe and healthy swim season for our swim families.

Sincerely,

            The Barracuda Executive

[Prince George Barracuda Swim Club News] - Update from The Executive

Prince George Barracuda Swim Club
[Prince George Barracuda Swim Club News] - Update from The Executive
Hi Blog PGBSC,

Here is the News information:
News Title: Update from The Executive
News Date: 05/31/2020

To our Swimming Family ,

I hope this message finds you well and safe in light of the ongoing COVID 19 crisis we find ourselves immersed in presently.

I understand that many of our swimmers and parents are very disappointed that the swimming season has been closed since mid March with reopening in the near future. I assure you that I, the Barracuda Executive and coaches are of the same sediment and share your disappointment. Please rest assured that at some point in time, swimming life will commence once again but with a new normal. The Barracuda's Executive have been in touch with the City of Prince George and are being told there is no set opening date currently to open pool operations in any capacity. If the Aquatic Center opens this summer there will be no programs but blocks of public swim times where residents can register for their swim online or by phone ensuring they remain within a 50 person gathering. It is presently unknown when the Barracuda Swim Club will commence operations once again. It is my hope that normalcy will commence in the fall of this year.

I wish you all a happy summer and will keep the club posted as we receive more information.

Regards

Kerim

You should be receiving an invoice from Team Unify showing a zero balance for April 1st. If you have any FRL credit on your account, your invoice may have a credit balance. Please contact me if your account shows any fees owed, and I will follow up.

I am in the process of issuing refunds for April, May and June for anyone that paid their childs swim fees annually or semi-annually. I will contact those families directly.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Stay safe everyone!

[Prince George Barracuda Swim Club News] - Update from the Executive

Prince George Barracuda Swim Club
[Prince George Barracuda Swim Club News] - Update from the Executive
Hi Blog PGBSC,

Here is the News information:
News Title: Update from the Executive
News Date: 03/29/2020
Afternoon everyone,

I hope everyone is healthy, safe and practicing social distancing.

The following update is from the executive.

1. The board has made the decision to refund all prepaid fees from April 1 to the end of the season.  This does involve a lot of work so we are asking for everyone's patience while we get this done.  There is no need to contact the registrar at this time to get your refund or withdraw your children from the Club.

2.  At this point, we will not be cancelling the season.  Should we get the opportunity to get back to the pool, we will let everyone know and will only charge fees should your child or children wish to participate.  We have heard from parents whose children would love to get back to the pool, even if for only a short period of time.  Further information about fees and times will be provided if we are able to swim again this season.

3. From a National perspective, you will all be aware that Canada will not be sending an Olympic team to the Olympics.  Although Trials were delayed, you should be aware that all other National meets to the end of August, 2020 have now been cancelled, including Canadian Junior and Canadian National Champs.  Swim BC has not yet cancelled the season so stay tuned.

Of course, safety of all is our utmost concern.  Stay healthy and talk soon.

Cheers,

Jason
